Elegant and strong, poplar is used in the manufacture of pallets through cubes and rafters. It also adapts perfectly to the manufacture of exterior cladding and interior fittings (parquet flooring, doors, panelling, furniture, etc.). An emblematic tree of the river valleys in Poitou-Charentes, it plays an increasingly important role in the Archimbaud Group's large-scale sawing activity each year and is an important part of its commitment to tree planting.
The Groupement Forestier des Peupliers created by the Archimbaud Group in 2015 is currently active on 230 hectares for a stand of 40,000 trees of different ages and reforests 35 hectares each year. Particularly ecological because of its rapid growth - 1 hectare of plantation captures 5 tonnes of CO2 per year - the poplar purifies the water it filters via photosynthesis and releases it in the form of oxygen. As a member of the 'Merci le peuplier' (thank you poplar) charter, the Archimbaud Group intends to use its commitment to help secure the processing industry.
